"Oh, Yes"By Charles Bukowski

there are worse things than
being alone
but it often takes decades
to realize this
and most often
when you do
it's too late
and there's nothing worse
than
too late.

Another classic Bukowski poem, short, but also really smart and deep. I think it's a really interesting and wise to realize that being alone isn't the worst thing in the world. Everyone is so damn nervous and worried that they won't find the person of their dreams, but why do we have to be so dependent on that? I also love the line "there's nothing worse than too late" because I think it's really true, in regards to everything. It's an absolute and complete helpless feeling when you realize it's too late to do something.
